Topping the range of the new Ford Mondeo is the XR5 Turbo, utilising a 200+ horsepower inline 5 engine. Available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, peak power has been rated at 217 hp with 320 Nm of torque available between 1,500 and 4,800 rpm.
The XR5 name continues the naming convention found throughout Ford Australia’s performance car line-up, with the Falcon XR6 and XR8, Fiesta XR4 and now Mondeo XR5. Visual changes for the XR5 Turbo include bigger 18-inch wheels, lowered sport suspension and sportier body kit with revised front and rear bumpers.
