Gunther Werks have created a very special bespoke creation showcasing their vision of the ultimate air cooled 993 Porsche 911. The 993 is considered the last of the true 911's with an air-cooled engine, non-electric components and short wheelbase. The 400R intends to be the perfect version of that formula, with plenty of modern tech thrown in without compromising what made the 993 so good.
The 400R is lighter stronger and faster thanks to a carbon-fiber composite body and the lessons learnt from Porsche motorsports efforts racing the 993 on the track. The wheels and tyres are wider with the fenders extended 30mm to accommodate them. The anti-roll bars are new front and back, and the suspension uses a new coilover setup complete with a hydraulic lift system to make the 400R easier to live with. Rothsport Racing have provided the 4.0L Flat 6 engine, which is set to a 7,800 rpm red line and should produce over 400 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. The manual transmission is custom-built by Getrag and consists of 6 gears with ratios specifically determined for the 400R.
Gunther Werks will limited the production of the 400R to only 25 examples, and with the many customisation options available, most will be one of a kind.
