Description
Local Motors is comprised of a unique setup involving community-driven car development with many different car designers and engineers collaborating together. The first vehicle to come from this arrangement is the Rally Fighter, an off-road racer suited for the American Southwest deserts. Production is set to be handled by micro factories in various regions throughout the United States, with plans to announce cars aimed at car enthusiasts in those local regions.
The Rally Fighter is powered by a BMW soured V6 diesel engine that delivers 265 hp and 576 Nm of torque. Styled by Sangho Kim, the body consists of a tubular steel spaceframe with rear wheel drive power distribution and a 6-speed automatic transmission and a kerb weight of 3,000 lbs.
