Maserati have unveiled their new open-top Gran Tourer called the GranCabrio. This car represents a new chapter for the Italian brand who have produced many open-top automobiles over the year which all started with the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder. The GranCabrio is essentially the convertible version of the GranTurismo, a four-seater, front-engined V8 powered GT car that has been designed by Pininfarina.
The V8 engine is Maserati’s 4.7L unit tat develops 439 PS (323 kW) of power and 361 lb-ft (490 Nm) of torque. Acceleration is stated as 5.3 seconds for the 0-62 mph, which is held back by the cars rather hefty 4,387 lbs (1,990 kg) of weight. Top speed should be around the 176 mph mark, providing plenty of air rushing through the hair.
