The Aston Martin Vanquish Vision Concept as revealed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show is set to rival the Ferrari F8 Tributo and McLaren 720S in the mid-engined supercar class. Taking plenty of cues from the upcoming Aston Martin AM-RB 003, the Vanquish Vision Concept is set to be the more affordable mainstream supercar (if such a thing exists). The engine will be the same as that found in the AM-RB 003 hypercar but without the hybrid electrical component, therefore reducing the complexity and cost of the powertrain. The carbon fiber chassis will also be replaced with a bonded aluminium chassis like that found in Aston's other offerings.
The exterior of the new concept follows the 003 but with all the race car aspects toned down to a more normal level for a road car. Expect to see plenty of aero elements at play on the eventual production car, as the supercar world steps more and more into the advancements of aerodynamic efficiency. That production date is slated for 2022, which will end Aston Martin's ambitious three-year plan of expansion. It's exciting times for Aston, with promising cars like this to look forward to in the near future.
