Aston Martins Formula 1 inspired Valkyrie now has a track only version that boasts over 1,100 hp at just 1,000 kg and capable of generating 1,000 kg of downforce. Those numbers are mighty impressive and mean the Valkyrie AMR Pro exceeds the magic 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of over 1 hp per 1 kg of weight. And if that wasn't enough, thanks to Adrian Neweys magic touch the car can generate more than its own weight in downforce.
The Valkyrie AMR Pro is lighter than the regular Valkyrie, and it achieves this through the use of lighter carbon fiber construction. The exhaust system is also lighter as well as the moulded race seats. The impressive downforce numbers are thanks to a more extreme aero package that includes a widened body, larger front and rear wings and a track specific active aero package.
Red Bull Racing's Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey said: "Seeing the Valkyrie AMR Pro and this year's Aston Martin Red Bull Racing F1TM show car together at Geneva is a special moment for me. The Aston Martin Valkyrie road car draws extensively from the knowledge I have gained during my career in Formula One, but the AMR Pro version has allowed me to work beyond the constraints of road legality, or indeed practicality! We've told a few of its secrets, but by no means all. I will leave it to the public to ponder the lap time predictions. Suffice to say they're quite impressive."
