Whilst not quite at the level of the Demon, the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is one step closer than the Redeye, with slightly more power and drag strip focused improvements. Since the Challenger Demon was only produced for the 1 year and Dodge have stated that another is not coming any time soon, The Super Stock now takes it's place as the most powerful current Challenger in the line-up.
Using the same 6.2L Hemi V8 found in all Hellcats to date, Dodge have tuned this version to develop 10 horsepower more than the current top Hellcat the Redeye. That means 818 PS (602 kW) of power is available for the Super Stock, with peak torque remaining the same at 707 lb-ft (959 Nm). More power isn't really the main goal here though, smashing out faster quarter mile times is.
To that end, Dodge have fitted smaller and lighter brakes up front, retuned the suspension to shift more weight to the rear wheels during full throttle launches and fitted smaller 18 inch wheels wrapped with Nitto NT05R drag radials. The quoted 0-60 mph acceleration is impressive, stopping the clock at 3.25 seconds and going on to a quarter mile time of 10.5 seconds. The top speed is not so impressive, limited by those drag radials and topping out at 168 mph.
