Abarth have got their hands on the new Fiat 124 Spider and given it a modest power bump with a more aggressive appearance. The visual differences include revised front and rear bumpers, new bigger wheels and optional blacked out hood and boot lid covers.
Based on the rear-wheel drive platform of the Mazda MX-5, the Abarth 124 Spider uses a mechanical limited-slip differential to aid in drive and traction whilst driving in a sporty manner. Abarth have gone to great lengths to ensure most the vehicles weight is concentrated between the axels, with the engine mounted behind the front axle. Weight has been keep to a low 1,060 kg giving a weight-to-power ratio of 6.2 kg/HP which is the best in its class.
