Description
In an effort to boost sales, Ford introduced a slew of new performance models for the Mustang which included the big block Boss 429. With a large 7.0L V8 crammed into the Mustangs engine bay, the Boss 429 was capable of a 0-62 mph launch in 5.6 seconds thanks to the 375 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque produced by the engine. That engine was part of Ford’s plan to homologate it for racing alongside the 5.0L V8 in the Boss 302.
