Story

Eleanor had the starring role as the lead halo car in the 2000 Disney film 'Gone in 60 Seconds'. Driven by master auto thief Randall "Memphis" Raines (Nicolas Cage), Eleanor feature heavily in the movies final act chase sequence, successfully outrunning dozens of police cars. The car chosen for the role was a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback, depicted as a Shelby GT500 in Dupont Pepper Grey paintwork and a custom designed body kit.

Eleven to twelve were built by Cinema Vehicle Services for the film, including nine as shells and three as full functional cars. Only seven survived the filming process, of which three have been offered to the public for sale, all with claims of originality and screen-use in the film. One additional Eleanor was made outside the films use, as a gift to the movies producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The original 'Gone in 60 Seconds' film from 1974 featured a 1971 Ford Mustang Sportsroof dressed as a 1973 model for the role as Eleanor. The car used a paint theme similar to the Mach 1 Mustang with black undersides and stripes down the hood. The rest of the car wore a 'School Bus Yellow' paint job creating a bright contrast for the camera.
