The Integra gained the name change to Type S in Australia to replace the Type R, however the Japanese models kept the Type R badge. In the USA the DC5 remained marketed as the Acura RSX Type S.
The DC5 Integra received a mild face-lift for the 2004 model year. Gone were the distinctive front and rear scoops under the lights, replaced with cleaner straight edges. The interior remained the same, and the engine changes were very minor. The suspension setup was softened a little, after complaints about the harsh riding Type R.
A very popular car to modify with plenty of aftermarket parts available to choose from. The DC5 remains a good looker and serves as a good stepping stone to more powerful cars.
