Kia has stolen the show at the 2017 detroit Auto Show, with a striking four-door fastback sports sedan. The stinger is set to be Kia's fastest and most powerful production car ever, with plans to go on sale at the end of 2017.
Born from the GT4 Stinger concept from 2014, the design adds a an exciting flare to Kias line up. "Unlike any Kia that has come before it, the Stinger really is a dream car for us, and here today in Detroit, that dream is now a reality after years of commitment and hard work from a passionate group of designers, engineers and executives around the world," said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America. "From its GT concept-car origins to the years of tuning and refining on the legendary Nurburgring circuit, no detail was too small to be obsessed over, and the result is simply stunning."
Two engines will be offered with a 2.0L inline 4 turbo & 3.3L V6 turbo, both are still in development with final specifications unconfirmed. Another choice will be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with the Stinger set to offer both. The gearbox will be an 8-speed automatic unit with no manual option listed for now.
