The Lexus RC F Track Edition is the lighter and more focused version of the luxury coupe which was first introduced in 2015. Lexus are claiming a decrease in weight of 60 to 70 kilograms, thanks to the use of a carbon fibre hood, roof and rear wing. lighter 19-inch forged BBS wheels with Brembo made carbon-ceramic brakes up front also add to this lightness whilst reducing unsprung weight by 25 kilograms. The stripped out interior also gets the carbon fiber treatment along with liberal use of Alcantara and red leather. The final piece of the puzzle is the new titanium exhaust system, which is lighter and louder, the perfect combination for those track days the RC F Track Edition has been designed for.
The new and improved power-to-weight ratio along with Lexus's new electronic launch control system will see the RC F Track Edition launch from 0 to 60 mph in just under 4 seconds. Once weight has been removed, Lexus turned their attention to improving the RC F's aerodynamic signature. The front of the car features a unique front splitter with canards that are designed to increase front end downforce for better grip and more precise steering. Out back the active spoiler found on the standard RC F has been replaced with a bigger fixed rear wing which reduces drag whilst adding downforce. The new rear wing alone has up to 58 pounds of additional downforce.
