Story

With a large 90 kWh battery pack and some nifty software upgrades, the Tesla Model S now boasts unparalleled performance delivered from the all-electric powertrain. With Tesla Motors constantly updating the software for the Model S, new performance capabilities are unlocked with overnight wireless updates. The most famous of these changes are the autopilot mode and ludicrous mode. We now live in a world where your car updates like your phone, and gaining more performance can be just a software update away.

Provided the right conditions are met, ludicrous mode enables the Tesla Model S to rocket from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds whilst pulling 1.1g. That is some serious acceleration that will be sure to scare any man woman or child passengers with ease. Performance like this suggest a future of all-electric cars may welcome an era of very fast acceleration becoming normalised and common.

The Tesla autopilot mode leverages the cars cameras and sensors to enable the car to essentially drive itself. The autopilot mode comes as an optional software package on top of the price of the car. Whilst not a fully self driving car, Tesla once again has put themselves in the news with technology put on the road that most other manufacturers are just in the testing phase with. Autopilot hasn't been all smooth sailing for the company, as every crash or incident gaining plenty of attention and scrutiny.
