Description
The Brabham BT62 racecar that appeared 2 years ago now has a road legal R version, staying big on performance and little on compromise. Officially named the BT62R, Brabham Automotive are planning to release more cars in the future to fill out their catalogue of high performing road cars.
To make the BT62 road legal, Brabham have replaced the front splitter, diffuser and rear wing with smaller legal alternatives, remapped the engine for a more manageable low speed experience and fitted a quieter exhaust system. The interior has also been fitted out for to a more comfortable standard with a combination of Alcantara or leather finishes, heating and air conditioning and even a stereo.
The rest of the car remains closely matched to the race going versions, with a free breathing V8 engine, six-speed sequential transmission, rear wheel drive, tubular steel structure with carbon fiber panels and double wishbone pushrod suspension. Power and torque also remain the same with 700 PS (515 kW) and 492 lb-ft (667 Nm) respectively.
