Description

With it’s iconic yellow and green livery, there’s no mistaking what movie this Ford Explorer came form. Jurassic Park was one of the biggest blockbuster films of the 1990’s, and the humble Ford Explorer was the vehicle of choice as the fictional parks self-driving tour guide. What really set it apart and made it memorable was the exterior graphics, adorned with Jurassic Park logos, dinosaur inspired patterns and eye-catching colours.

The 1992 model was the first generation Ford Explorer, which was introduced to the market to replace the Ford Bronco and compete with the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and Jeep Cherokee. It was bigger than the outgoing Bronco, and went on to become a big sales success for Ford in the US. Available in both 3-door and 5-door body styles the first gen Explorer was based off the Ford Ranger, sharing it’s chassis and underpinnings. The XLT model used for the film was the middle of the range trim, sitting above the XL and below the Eddie Bauer trim.
