Description
Ford are ready to take the fight to the Ram 1500 TRX, with the reveal of the V8 powered F-150 Raptor R. It’s powered by a “Predator” supercharged V8 taken from the Shelby GT500 with some modifications thrown in. The 5.2L unit provides 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque which will allow the Raptor R to haul 1,400 lbs in the back and pull a 8,700 lbs trailer.
It’s clear Ford are keen to match the 1500 TRX after they were caught out a bit short with the F-150 Raptors turbo V6 unit in it’s initial launch. Now the Raptor R goes blow for blow with the Ram in both power and torque, with both topping the super truck category for 2022.
