Introduced at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show, the W12 Roadster concept was the follow up to the Syncro concept from the previous year. This time the car featured a rear-wheel drive configuration instead of the Syncro’s all-wheel drive setup, while maintaining the same twelve cylinder engine layout.

Development continued to be lead by Italdesign Giugiaro, with the chassis based off the Syncro concept but changed to an open topped roadster version. Power from the W12 power plant remained the same at 414hp with the 0-100 kph sprint taking 4.0 seconds.
