2018 BMW i3s

A refresh for the BMW i3, now with sportier looking ‘s’ model and bigger battery pack for more miles per charge. Making its world premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new i3s embraces a more aggressive look, with a striking two-tone colour scheme and sporty styling.

Mechanically the i3s comes equipped as standard with sports suspension that drops the car by 10mm over the regular i3. The track width has been increased by 40mm and large 20-inch light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design are available. Performance is about the same as before with an acceptable 0-100 kph time of 7.3 seconds, and a limited top speed of 150 kph (93 mph). Most of the changes for the new i3 are visual in nature, with an upgrade in battery technology. BMW were at the forefront of city electric cars when they first released the i3, now they have delivered an iterative update that further improves on the formula, without pushing forward in any great stride.
