2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

The new performance pinnacle of Cadillac’s line-up has arrived and it’s wearing the Blackwing name. Called the CT5-V Blackwing, it will take it’s place as the most powerful Cadillac ever made with 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque. That large lump of power and torque has meant the CT5-V Blackwing is a genuine 200+ mph car, and number once reserved for the fastest of supercars, is now available in a four-door Cadillac sedan.

With the Blackwing name attached to this car, one might expect that the Cadillac Blackwing engine last seen in the CT6 was under the hood, but that isn’t the case. The engine chosen for the job is a revised version of the 6.2L supercharged LT4 V8 used in the CTS-V, which ranks as Cadillac’s most powerful engine they have developed in their 100+ year history. So the Blackwing name has now been transitioned over to representing the brands top performance cars with the CT5 and CT4 both first in line with Blackwing versions.
