Description
The Mercedes GLC has been given the AMG treatment, stuffing a big 500+ hp V8 under the hood in both SUV and coupe variants. The GLC63 has a combination of parts from the C63 and E63 AMGs, which should provide a road munching performance car set to take on the luxury SUV segment.
Power is feed through a nine-speed multi-clutch transmission borrowed from the E63 AMG. To put it to the ground an all-wheel drive system that offers fully variable torque distribution between the front and rear axles should keep the GLC63 planted on the road. There are different ride characteristics the driver can select with three-chamber air suspension allowing a range of comfort to sport.
Competition will come in form of the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Package, Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio & the coming BMW X3 M. The GLC63 SUV and Coupe is set to make its debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
