2003 MG XPower SV

A sports car that came at the end of MG Rovers run, the XPower SV never really got off the ground and ended life as a sales bomb. Created from the platform of the Qvale Mangusta (itself formerly known as the De Tomaso Biguà) after MG Rover acquired Qvale, the XPower SV finished production with only 82 units being built. A complex build process that involved the car to be sent to six different companies and MG Rovers strategic mistakes and eventual demise all contributed to the XPower SV failing.

Fitted in the engine bay was a Ford Modular V8 coming in at 4.6L in capacity and producing 320 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. The light weight carbon fibre body helped keep weight down to 3,395 lbs and allow a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 165 mph. 2004 saw an SV-R version released which had more power and torque thanks to a 5.0L V8 tuned by Roush.
