This could be the world’s fastest convertible, as Hennessey chase their own record with the Venom F5 Roadster. Revealed at the 2022 Monterey Car Week, Texas outfit Hennessey Special Vehicles are gunning for a top speed attempt that could break the current 265.6 mph record for a convertible held by the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder.
Based on the Venom F5 coupe which was designed from the outset to have it’s roof removed, the Roadster boasts the same high powered powertrain. The 6.6L ‘Fury’ V8 develops a huge 1,817 hp and 1,617 Nm of torque on E85 fuel. Expect the 0-62 mph time to be around the same as the coupe, under 3 seconds or so, and the top speed according to Hennessey could top the 300 mph mark.
