Description
McLaren are set to launch their own one-make series pro-am championship featuring the Artura Trophy race car. Based on the Artura GT4, McLaren have added more power and aero into the mix to take the Trophy to the next level. The news series is aimed at helping amateur and aspiring GT racers and will be a support race for five rounds of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe in 2023.
Much like the Ferrari 296 GT3, the Artura Trophy forgoes the hybrid system altogether to keep things simple and reliable, and even shares the same 120-degree layout of the engine to accommodate a hot vee turbo setup. Peak power is quoted at 576 hp, a nice bump pup from the Artura GT4 due to not having to comply with that regulations Balance of Performance limitations.
